JETAAWA News – 28 Jan 2013

February 1, 2013 by

Hi everyone. This is our first news update for 2013 – sorry for the lay-off!

You’ll be happy to know, though, that it’s been worth the wait, because this Sunday, 3 February 2013, is ourannual okonomiyaki BBQ at Kings Park!
Kings Park is a big place, I hear you say. You’re right. We will be at the Pines Picnic Area just off Fraser Ave (the main entrance, near the war memorial), conveniently near the bus stop for non-gas guzzlers. It’s around about hereor perhaps here.
We kick off at 11am with FREE hot dogs and the eponymous cabbage pancakes soon to follow. Come early to avoid disappointment! There will also be kanga cricket, melon bashing and other forms of enjoyment not involving sticks.
Softies and water are also provided. Anything stronger, BYO. It might also be an idea to bring rugs, chairs, sunscreen, etc etc.
This is open to the general public but for catering and planning purposes you will need to RSVP with names and numbers to vp@jetaawa.com by Friday 1 February 2013.
Wear your yukata / jinbei etc if you have one! (If you don’t, see (2) below…)

In other news:
(1) If you didn’t already know, the Japanese government is holding a photo competition, Share your WOW! There are heaps of prizes. A pdf is attached:

  • ShareYourWowMoments_JapanPhotoContest

(2) One of our friends is hiring out yukata. If you’re ever in need for an event, check the attached flyer:

(3) If you’re looking for a pretty good info/promo for JET, check this on YouTube and send it to people who might be interested in applying.

Cheers!
