1. Bunkasai
The Japanese School in Perth is holding its annual School Festival this Saturday 7 November at its new location on Kalinda Drive, City Beach.
Formalities will be starting from around 930, and the stalls are open from 1115-1330. JETAAWA will again be selling delicious gyoza and refreshing drinks, so rock on down (in your yukata if available) and support us and the JSP. There are always lots of tasty treats and interesting bric-a-brac on sale, and the Australia-Japan Society is also presenting a mini Australian zoo!
Let us know if you are interested in helping out on the stall too!
2. Careers Night
We had another overwhelming response to our annual Careers Seminar held on 27 October at UWA, with around 70 attendees. Our thanks go out to all the presenters who gave of their time generously, speaking on various interesting and useful topics.
See the attached photos!
3. Regional Conference
At the upcoming Regional Conference of JETAAs in Auckland, JETAAWA will be putting in a bid for the 2010 event. We hope everyone gets on board and supports us in our work next year!
4. Committee meeting
The November committee meeting will be from 6pm this Wednesday 4 November, at the Presidential Suite. Let us know if you are interested in attending and preparing for the bunkasai!
5. kaiWA
kaiWA is still clocking over at 43 Below every second Thursday. In November, that’s the 5th and 19th.Come down and practise your Japanese with real life Japanese folk or just meet new people!
6. AJS Xmas dinner
Our friends at the Australia-Japan Society are holding their annual Christmas Dinner on Friday 4 December at the Lake Karrinyup Country Club. There are always lots of prizes and heaps of fun, so the $65 fee is definitely worth it! RSVP to JETAAWA if you are interested by 1 December.
Cheers – as usual, let us know if you have any comments or suggestions.
