“TOHOKU – Through the Eyes of Japanese Photographers” Exhibition

August 5, 2012 by

The Consulate-General of Japan recently played host to “TOHOKU – Through the Eyes of Japanese Photographers” Exhibition. We attended the official opening function on the evening of 19 July 2012.

The exhibition featured works from several photographers and was held at Council House. Consul-General Mr Tatsuo Ishikawa, Lord Mayor Lisa Scaffidi and Minister Michael Mischin all made speeches noting the close relationship between Australia and Japan. Visiting students from Tokyo made dishes from local Tohoku produce while several bottles of sake from Tohoku were on hand for guests to try.

Many thanks to the Consulate-General of Japan, the City of Perth and the Japan Foundation for their support in bringing this fantastic exhibition to Perth.
